How it works (4 steps, under a minute)
1. Upload the PDF
Drag and drop, or pick from Google Drive / OneDrive / Dropbox. Formswrite extracts text and structure immediately. For scanned PDFs, OCR runs in the background - no separate step.
2. Review the parsed questions
Every question Formswrite found is shown with the question type it picked (multiple choice, short answer, etc.) and the correct answer (if it could detect one). Edit anything inline - type, options, correct answer, point value - before the Google Form gets created.
3. Connect Google Drive
One-click Google sign-in if you have not done it before. Formswrite needs Drive access to create the form on your account. You can revoke at any time from Google Account settings.
4. Click "Create Google Form"
The form is created in your Drive in seconds and opens in a new tab. From there it is a normal Google Form - share via link, embed, set quiz settings, view responses in Google Sheets.

This is the most common scenario for teachers. The PDF is a multiple-choice worksheet with the correct answers circled or marked with an asterisk. Formswrite picks up the answer key and configures the Google Form as a quiz with auto-grading - students get their score immediately on submit.

Common gotchas and how to avoid them
Scanned PDF is too low-resolution
If the OCR output looks garbled in the preview, the source scan was too low-res. Get a 300dpi+ scan if possible. As a workaround, retype the worst questions manually in the review pane before clicking "Create Google Form."
PDF has questions but no marked correct answers
Formswrite still creates the Google Form correctly - it just leaves the answer key blank. Mark correct answers inline in the review pane, then create the form.
PDF includes pictures that don't transfer
Almost always works, but if a diagram is in a vector format the PDF reader doesn't support, the image may be skipped. Check the preview - Formswrite shows you exactly what got extracted. Re-export the PDF from the source app as "embed images" if your original tool offers it.
Form needs to be in a shared Drive, not personal Drive
After Formswrite creates the form, move it inside Google Drive to your shared/team drive. Permissions transfer automatically.
