How to Copy a Google Form Without Access

Creating and sharing Google Forms is a great way to gather information, conduct surveys, or collect feedback. However, there might be instances when you need to copy a Google Form without having direct access to it. This guide will walk you through the steps to achieve that, ensuring you can create a similar form based on the original.

Step 1: Get the Link to the Google Form

The first step is to obtain the URL of the Google Form you wish to copy. If the form is public or shared with you, you can easily find the link in your browser’s address bar. If you received the form through email or a shared link, ensure you copy the entire URL.

Step 2: Open the Google Form in Incognito Mode

To ensure you’re working without any account restrictions, open a new incognito window in your browser. This prevents any prior login credentials from interfering with your access. Paste the copied Google Form link into the incognito window and hit enter to open the form.

Step 3: Inspect the Form’s Structure

Once the form is open, you can view all the questions, options, and overall layout. While you won’t be able to directly copy the form, you can take notes or screenshots of the structure, including the question types (multiple choice, short answer, etc.) and any images or videos used.

Step 4: Create a New Google Form

Open a new tab and navigate to Google Forms. Sign in to your Google account if prompted. Click on the “Blank” form option to start a new project.

Step 5: Recreate the Questions

Using your notes or screenshots from the original form, start recreating the questions in your new Google Form. Use the same question types and options as the original to maintain consistency. You can also customize the form’s title, description, and theme to suit your needs.

Step 6: Adjust Settings and Share

Once you have recreated the form, check the settings to ensure everything is configured to your preference. This includes setting who can respond to the form and whether respondents can edit their answers. Finally, click the “Send” button to share your newly created form with your audience.
