# How to Make Your Own LET Reviewer From Your Modules

In short

A LET reviewer you build yourself covers the three areas of the Licensure Examination for Teachers: General Education, Professional Education and, for secondary teachers, your area of specialization. Download the current syllabus from the PRC, split your modules by area, and turn each lesson into key terms and practice questions you answer without looking.

## LET Reviewer: How to Make Your Own From Your Modules

Formswrite is not affiliated with the PRC, so always confirm the exam coverage, schedule and requirements on the official PRC site.

## Why make your own LET reviewer

Published reviewers are useful, but they are written for everyone. A reviewer you build from your own modules and class notes matches what you have already seen, and you learn the material while making it. The best approach is both: use a published reviewer for breadth, and your own for the topics you keep missing.

## Step 1: Split the coverage into areas

The LET is organized by area, and the weight of each differs for elementary and secondary examinees, so check the current table of specifications from the PRC instead of relying on an old reviewer. Then make one folder per area.

| Area | Typical contents | What to prepare |
| --- | --- | --- |
| General Education | English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, Social Science | Terms, readings and sample problems |
| Professional Education | Learning theories, assessment, curriculum, teaching strategies, ethics | Theorists and definitions, case questions |
| Specialization (secondary) | Your major subject | Content from your major courses |

## Step 2: Turn each module into a one page reviewer

For every lesson in your modules:

1. List the terms and definitions.
2. List the people and what they are known for. Prof Ed has many of these, such as learning theorists and their key ideas.
3. Write the principles and laws you have to be able to apply.
4. Add two or three questions at the application level, for example a classroom scenario and which principle applies.

## Step 3: Add practice questions

The LET is multiple choice, so practice in that format. Writing the questions is the slow part. Formswrite can generate practice questions with an answer key and flashcards with AI from a PDF, Word file, Google Doc or photos of notes. Upload one module at a time through the [AI reviewer maker](/tools/reviewer-maker), then edit the output. For a multiple choice set built from a PDF, the [multiple choice test generator](/tools/multiple-choice-test-generator) is another option.

Remember that the tool writes from your material. If your module has a mistake or is out of date, so will the questions, so cross-check anything about policy or law against the current official source.

## Step 4: A twelve week plan

| Weeks | Focus |
| --- | --- |
| 1 to 3 | Professional Education: build reviewer pages, answer the practice set |
| 4 to 6 | Your specialization: reviewer pages and practice |
| 7 to 9 | General Education: English, Filipino, Math, Science, Social Science |
| 10 to 11 | Full mixed practice sets under time |
| 12 | Review your wrong answers only |

Adjust the order to your weakest area, and keep a list of every question you got wrong. That list is your most valuable reviewer.

## Step 5: Practice like the exam

- Answer in one sitting without notes.
- Time yourself with a target per question, then check the exam's actual duration on the PRC announcement.
- Review the wrong answers the same day and rewrite them as flashcards.

The pattern of spaced review is explained in [are flashcards effective](/blog/are-flashcards-effective).

## Sample questions to model yours on

These are original examples of the style to write or generate, not questions from any past exam.

**Professional Education, application level:** A teacher asks students to explain a concept in their own words before moving on. Which assessment purpose does this mainly serve: diagnostic, formative or summative? The answer is formative, because it checks understanding while learning is still in progress.

**General Education, Science:** Which process turns water vapor into liquid droplets in the atmosphere? The answer is condensation.

**Professional Education, recall level:** Which term describes the gap between what a learner can do alone and what the learner can do with guidance? The answer is the zone of proximal development.

Notice that the Prof Ed items describe a classroom situation. When you generate questions from your modules, ask for scenario style items for Prof Ed and plain recall for terms, so your practice matches both.

## Common mistakes to avoid

- **Memorizing answers instead of reasons.** If you can only recognize a question you saw before, you have not learned the idea. Change the wording of old questions and try again.
- **Neglecting General Education because it feels easy.** The subjects are broad and the questions can be about anything in the syllabus, so give each subject a fixed slot in your plan.
- **Using one outdated reviewer.** Laws, policies and curriculum references change, so check anything of that kind against the current official source.
- **Never testing under time.** Speed is a skill, and it only improves if you practice with a clock.

## FAQ

Is a self-made LET reviewer enough?

It is a strong base, but combine it with published reviewers and past exam style questions so you cover areas of the syllabus your own modules missed.

How do I make a General Education LET reviewer?

Create one section per subject (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, Social Science), list the terms and facts from your modules, and write or generate practice questions for each section.

Can I make a Prof Ed reviewer with AI?

Yes. Upload your Prof Ed modules and generate key terms and practice questions, then check theorists, definitions and legal references against the official source.

Does Formswrite have the actual LET questions?

No. It creates practice questions from the material you upload and is not affiliated with the PRC.
