# Blooket CSV Template: Format, Rules and Import Steps

In short

Blooket lets you import multiple choice questions from a CSV file using its own template. Pick CSV Import on the Set Creator page (or Spreadsheet Import on an existing set), copy or download the template, fill it in without touching the coloured cells, save it as a .CSV and upload it.

## Where to find the template

You can import into a new set or an existing one:

- **New set.** On the Set Creator page select CSV Import, add a title, then select Create Your Set.
- **Existing set.** On the Set Edit page select Spreadsheet Import.

Either path gives you Blooket's spreadsheet template. Choose Copy to edit it in Google Sheets, or Download to edit it in Excel.

## How to fill the template

1. Type each question and its answer options in the white cells. Blooket asks you not to edit the coloured (blue or gray) cells.
2. In the Correct Answer(s) column enter only numbers: 1, 2, 3 or 4 to match the position of the right option. If the answer "6" sits in the Answer 2 column, you enter 2.
3. For two correct answers, separate the numbers with a comma, for example 1,3.
4. Set the time limit for each question in its column.
5. Optional: write typing in column J for any question you want to be a typing answer question. Whatever you enter in the answer columns is then imported as an "is exactly" option.
6. Download the finished sheet as a .CSV (Comma Separated Values) file.
7. Go back to Blooket and upload the CSV. You land on the Set Edit page to adjust anything before you save.

Blooket's guide covers multiple choice questions, plus typing answers. If your quiz has images or other item types, import what the CSV can carry and finish the rest in the editor.

## Mistakes that break the import

- **Typing the answer text in the correct answer column.** It must be the number of the option.
- **Saving as .xlsx.** Use File, Download, Comma Separated Values (.csv) in Google Sheets, or Save As CSV in Excel.
- **Deleting the header row or moving columns.** Keep the template layout exactly as Blooket provides it.
- **Editing coloured cells.** They hold formatting the importer relies on.
- **Shuffled options after a copy and paste from a document.** Check that each correct answer number still matches after you reorder anything.

## Skip the retyping

The template is fast once your questions are in cells, but a worksheet or PDF is not in cells. Formswrite reads questions and correct answers from a PDF, Word file, Google Doc, Excel or Google Sheet and builds a Blooket-ready set you import, so you review instead of retype. Exporting to Blooket is a paid feature. The free plan only exports Formswrite Forms.

## When another import path is faster

Blooket also has a Quizlet Import option on the same set creation screen, which takes a Quizlet export pasted as text, with a Flip questions and answers checkbox if the sides are the wrong way round. Use it for flashcard sets. Use the CSV for quizzes that already have four options and a marked answer, or when you want typing questions and per-question time limits.

## Quick example

Question 1: "What is 3 + 3?" Answers: 5, 6, 7, 8. Correct Answer(s): 2. Question 2: "Which are prime numbers?" Answers: 2, 4, 5, 9. Correct Answer(s): 1,3. Question 3: "Name the capital of France" with typing in column J and Paris in the first answer column.
